Recognition
The format for profiles of independent people, and the questions they start from.
The People section is for individuals who work on their own terms: musicians, photographers, filmmakers, designers, writers, makers. Not because they are famous, and not because they are alike, but because something in the way they work is recognizable.
Each profile can start from the same few questions:
- What did you leave behind to start doing this?
- Who are you doing it for?
- What does independence cost you, and what does it give back?
- Who else should people know about?
That last question matters. Every profile should point somewhere else, toward the next person on the road.
